Family Immigration

Maine Immigration Attorney

FAMILY immigration is OUR SPECIALITY AT GVD LAW

Both U.S. citizens ("USC")  and Lawful Permanent Residents ("LPR" or "green card holders") can sponsor close family members to live, study and work in the U.S.  Close family means spouses, parents, children, and siblings - but not more distant relatives, like aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews or cousins. To immigrate, close family members must meet both eligibility and inadmissibility requirements of U.S. immigration law. Certain family members can immigrate within months while others are subject to wait times that are many years long.
